Safelite 6.0 Practice Test

The correct answer highlights the important steps involved in preparing a windshield designated for Frit, No Frit, or Inner Frit applications. The preparation process begins with decontaminating the glass, which is essential to remove any contaminants that could interfere with the adherence of the adhesive during installation. Following decontamination, a final wash is conducted to ensure that the surface is not only clean but also free from any residual substances that might have been missed during the initial cleaning. The SP-207 is a specific product or treatment that is applied at this stage to enhance adhesion and ensure the integrity of the windshield installation.

This approach is critical because it ensures that the windshield is prepared in a manner that maximizes the bonding strength of the adhesive, which is fundamental for safety and performance. The absence of these preparatory steps could lead to issues such as leaks or detachment, compromising the structural integrity of the windshield.

In contrast, the other options do not follow the appropriate sequence or include the necessary steps required for optimal windshield preparation, which could result in less effective installation processes.
